Good Morning!

Some Earnings reports are due today, of significance is Dominoes Pizza Inc. (NYSE: DPZ), the pizza giant, Acuity Brands Inc. (NYSE: AYI) a lighting and building management company, and Helen of Troy (NASDAQ: HELE) a consumer products company.

All three indices futures are in positive territory this morning, and the European markets are mostly up.

The dollar is down, further strengthening the precious metals markets.

Stocks Moving October 8

The markets rebounded nicely yesterday after President Trump reversed course on part of the stimulus package. As expected the airlines benefited and we’re seeing activity this morning indicating more upward pressure. American Airlines (NASDAQ: AAL), United Airlines (NASDAQ: UAL), and JetBlue Airways Corp.(NASDAQ: JBLU) are seeing pre-market activity this morning.

Eaton Vance (NYSE: ETN) an investment company gained 30% in pre-market activity on the news that Morgan Stanley is taking it over.

IBM (NYSE: IBM) rose on the news it would spin off its infrastructure unit and Regeneron (NASDAQ: REGN) took off after President Trump indicated that its antibody cocktail was key to his recovery.

Costco Wholesale Corporation (NASDAQ: COST) reported a huge 16.9% increase in sales year over year, and Citibank (NYSE: C) was handed a $400 million penalty by the Fed to “correct several longstanding deficiencies”.

Recent Unusual Options Activity

  • Two investors have plunked down a total of $720,000 in call options, $266,000 and $454,000 on Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA), at $425 and $430 respectively, expiring on October 23rd and November 20th, 2020.
  • Another Tesla investor invested $155,000 on $425 calls expiring on October 16, 2020.

The Boeing Co. (NYSE: BA) the rocket and airline builder saw an investor place a call at $170 on a $115,00 trade expiring November 20th, 2020.
