Futures climbed overnight indicating what may be the best week stocks have had since July.

The reason is yet another tease of potential fiscal stimulus from Congress. Here’s what we know: Steve Mnuchin reached out to Nancy Pelosi indicating that President Trump now wants a broad relief deal.

On the commodity front, oil and oil stocks should see a bounce in trading today as 92% of the Gulf of Mexico oil operations will shut down as a result of hurricane Delta.

Stocks Moving October 8

Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ: AMD) is in talks to acquire chip maker Xilinix, Inc (NASDAQ: XLNX) for $30 billion, bouncing the stock upward

Novo Nordisk (NYSE: NVO) the pharmaceutical giant out of Denmark was up over 4% this morning, and

FuelCell Energy (NASDAQ:FCEL) was up as much as 20% on Thursday after an upgrade by an analyst and a DOE project award.

Recent Unusual Options Activity

  • An investor put down a trade for $450,690 on Vale S.A (NYSE: VALE) it engages in the production and export of raw materials for steel making. A $20 put with an expiration of January 15th, 2021.
  • There was another trade made for $253,980 in Vale with a $16 put with the same expiration date.
  • And finally, a trader invested $217,350 in Intel (NASDAQ: INTC) with a $52.50 call expiring January 21, 2022.
